Copianto AI, the conversational AI search platform for enterprises, hit a home run and secured a €100,000 investment on the entrepreneurial-themed reality show Shark Tank Malta.
Four angel investors, Mark Bajada, Alex Fenech, Kirsy Kullman, and Dino Fino, participated in the deal. With the funding, the company plans to establish in Malta, acquire customers, and expand across the European Union market.
The startup provides businesses with the tools to build conversational search experiences leveraging cutting-edge generative artificial intelligence (AI) and large language models (LLM). Unlike traditional search, which is mostly a keywords search base, Copianto AI’s platform uses vector search to create a knowledge base of customers’ unstructured data (audio, image, video, etc.) and make it searchable. Enterprises leverage the searchable data to develop intelligent assistants or copilots to help users find the information they need.
Copianto AI was founded in 2022 by former Meltwater Entrepreneurial School of Technology alums Timothy Afrane Wuo-Asare, Daniella Darlington, Alex Boateng, and Alfred Sosu. The company’s first product was an AI-powered SaaS platform for writing and content creation that provided a convenient and efficient method for generating high-quality content. The MEST Africa-backed startup was among the five startups that received the $100,000 seed capital after the Entrepreneurs-in-Training Program in 2022.
The pivotal moment was facilitated by the BlueSPACE Startup Trade Mission, which has partnered with the Maltese High Commission in Ghana to foster collaborations between the Ghanaian and Maltese startup ecosystems. The BlueSPACE Innovation Hub organises BluESPACE Startup Trade Mission to help startups explore new markets and connect with potential customers.
